The SUPERNOVA-600 system is compatible with optogenetic stimulation modules of various wavelengths, enabling efficient optogenetic manipulation within the imaging field-of-view while performing miniaturized two-photon microscopy.
The single-photon optogenetic module offers selectable wavelengths (473 nm, 589 nm, 635 nm), with freely switchable automatic/manual stimulation modes and automatic tagging of stimulation signals.
Miniaturized two-photon microscopy enables single-cell resolution imaging and optogenetic manipulation in specific deep brain regions.
Activation of VIP neurons or inhibition of PV neurons in the dmPFC (dorsomedial prefrontal cortex) enhanced overall neuronal activity in this region, which promoted effortful behaviors in mice and led to winning outcomes.
Conversely, suppression of VP neuron activity or activation of PVergic neurons reduced overall neuronal activity in the dmPFC, resulting in retreat behaviors and submissive outcomes.
